I have not entirely ruled out going to the gym after work. But I don't have my clothes with me, and I have a bad habit of not being to get back out of the house once I've been sucked inside its doors.
It's STILL snowing here. Our good friend had to go to SEA to pick up her husband last night. He works in Alaska, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. His flight came in at 11:15 p.m. When the roads are bare and dry, we live 2.5 hours from SEA. Long story short, we didn't want her driving there by herself. P drove her and I went along.
The plan was to eat at The Crab Pot and then go get him, so we'd leave around 6 pm. Luckily, I called them (and subsequently every restaurant we could think of [that we knew] in the greater Seattle area, only to find that they were all closing at 5:00 due to weather.
Silverdale, the town 1.25 hours from here that has a mall, was mostly open. We ate at Olive Garden. I almost ordered my favorite, Capellini Pomodoro [all pasta and tomatoes, no protein], but ended up going with "Mixed Grill" which was basically beef and chicken shishkabobs with peppers and onions, yellow and green squash on the side. And homefries, but I didn't eat many of them. There was too much protein to scarf. (I ended up at 137 grams of protein yesterday, Go Me!)
Anyway, we made it to the airport and home, slipping and sliding quite a bit, and got home around 3:30 a.m. So I took the liberty of sleeping in until 8:00 and heading straight to work.
I've downloaded Alwyn Cosgrove's new book, The New Rules of Lifting for Abs, which they say still covers the whole body, but has an emphasis on core work. I only got thru the first chapter and why they re-wrote/revised the original workout plan they had (people getting better results in a shorter period of time, basically), so I haven't hit the actual program yet. The more I think about it, the more curling up on the couch with this book sounds like a better plan than venturing to the gym tonight. I'll go there tomorrow with a better plan.
